PROTECTING THE PRIVACY OF CHILDREN

We believe that it is especially important to protect children's privacy online (Note: We define "children" as minors younger than 18 years old.). We encourage parents to get involved with their children's online usage and to be aware of the activities in which they are participating. Children should always get permission from their parents before sending any information about themselves (such as their names, email addresses, and phone numbers) over the internet, to us or to anyone else. Our website is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect or use any personal information from children, and we do not provide any personal information, regardless of its source, to any third-party for any purpose whatsoever from our visitors younger than 18 years old.

We do not knowingly allow children to register with us or to participate in any of our promotions or contests. No information should be submitted to or posted on this site by visitors younger than 18 years old. If you’re under 18, please don’t provide any information about yourself on this website. In the event that Sierra Dealer Specialties obtains information from an individual who indicates that he/she is younger than 18 years old, Sierra Dealer Specialties will promptly discard the personal information without collecting, using or disclosing such information to any third-party. You should be aware that if your child voluntarily discloses his or her name, email address or other information on any website, such disclosures may result in unsolicited messages.

THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

You are not required to provide personal information to visit the this site. We may collect usage data, ZIP codes and other information on all users, but it is not personal, except as described below under the section "Browser Level Information."

This site may collect email addresses of consumers who communicate with us or our dealerships or private party sellers, (such as through Purchase Requests) via e-mail. Purchase Request information typically includes name, address, and phone numbers, e-mail address and specific vehicle information. In addition, consumers who express a desire to apply for vehicle financing provide us with and authorize us or our affiliate websites or dealerships to obtain from third-parties necessary financial information, such as credit reports (“Finance Information”). We do not provide financing but, instead, transmit those requests to third-party vendors for consideration. We also collect information on web pages visited and other information that is provided by consumers, either on our site or in response to e-mail communications from us.

All information provided by consumers in any of the above-listed ways or otherwise becomes the property of ControlCSI once received by us, and may be used and disclosed, as permitted in this Policy.

You may also be asked to provide personal information to use certain services on this website, which will be apparent from the forms we ask you to complete. When you sign up to join this site as a registered user, request a dealer price quote, use one of our other interactive services or enter a contest, we may request specific information about you, including your name, age, address and phone number, as well as demographic and vehicle information. To sign up to join this site as a registered user, request a dealer price quote, use one of our other interactive services or enter a contest, you must be 18 years of age or older, and agree to the Terms of Service of the website.

The information we gather falls into two categories: (1) Information supplied by visitors to the site when they list a car for sale, perform a search, enter a sweepstakes or other promotional contest, or initiate a transaction; and, (2) Tracking information gathered as visitors navigate through our website and review our email newsletters and other email messages. Third-party providers featured on or linked to by our website, such as vendors of products and services offered through our site by third-parties, may be gathering information, as well, through processes we don’t control.

SEARCHES AND LISTINGS

To make use of certain features on our site, visitors need to provide limited information about themselves and their interests so that we can tailor the information we provide to their needs. For example, to help you find the car you want close to home, we need to know what kind of car you’re looking for and your zip code. We ask you to provide this information when you perform a search. We use this information to help you find the car you’re looking for. If you find a listing that interests you and elect to send the seller an email through our website, we’ll share with the seller the contact information you supply through our online “Email Seller” form. If you do not wish to share your email address or other contact information with the sellers who advertise on our website, you should not use our “Email Seller” contact form. Many of the dealer listings that appear on our website include toll-free telephone numbers that can be used to contact the dealership or private party that is selling the advertised vehicle. If you call a seller using one of these toll-free numbers, we may provide the dealer with the date, time and duration of your call, as well as the number from which your call originated. If you wish to contact a seller that advertises on our website without disclosing this information, please contact the dealer by email or by dialing its local telephone number. When you list a car for sale, we ask for information on the car and on how you can be contacted by potential buyers. We also ask for your credit card number and the expiration date on your card. We use this information to create your ad and to process your payment. Sellers may opt not to have their contact information displayed on this site, in which case potential buyers would call the ControlCSI office and then be forwarded to the contact phone number given.

FRAMED SECTIONS OF OUR SITE

ControlCSI maintains relationships with outside service providers for some of the products and services offered through our site. The information these providers make available may be presented in a “framed” format, where this sites border will surround the pages served by the service providers or by directly linking the user to the vendors’ sites. In either case, the service provider is prominently identified. Please be aware that any information you provide on those framed pages is provided directly to those service providers and is subject to their security and privacy policies. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of these outside service providers, because their privacy practices may differ from ours.

SWEEPSTAKES AND OTHER PROMOTIONS

From time to time, we may offer sweepstakes or other promotions on our website. If you enter a sweepstakes or promotional contest, we’ll ask you to provide information about yourself (such as your name, address, and email address). Among other things, we’ll need this information to contact you if you win, and we may use this information for marketing purposes. We may share this information with any co-sponsor of the contest or sweepstakes, which we’ll identify in the contest rules. We may also share this information with shipping or fulfillment companies or other third-party service providers who are responsible for some aspects of administering our promotions, such as conducting drawings and/or delivering prizes to winners. If you don’t want us to collect the information requested in the contest or sweepstakes registration form or to provide it to co-sponsors, please do not enter the contest or sweepstakes.

DIRECT PROMOTION

Using the contact information provided by registrants 18 years of age or older, ControlCSI, its affiliates or third-parties to whom ControlCSI discloses such information in accordance with this privacy policy (including its partners or advertisers), may periodically send you messages about our website or our services, or to inquire about your experience using our website or sites operated by others. From time to time, we’ll also send you emails that may include automotive information, special promotions, and other commercial offers that we think may be of interest to you. Though we hope you’ll find these communications informative and useful, if you don’t, you can always unsubscribe by following the simple instructions included in each email. In any case where we might use your contact information for this purpose, you will be able to indicate at registration whether you wish to receive these communications. However, by providing us your personal contact information when you register or request specific services, you agree that ControlCSI may contact you regarding account status, changes to this privacy policy or other terms of service and to confirm, fulfill and follow up on your registration, service or information request.

BROWSING ON OUR WEBSITE

If you browse through our site without entering any personal data, we will gather and store certain information about your visit. This information does not identify you personally and cannot be linked back to you, unless you decide at some point to identify yourself.

To help us keep track of how many users are visiting particular pages within our website and how many users are accessing particular listings that we distribute, we place a cookie, a small entry in text file, on your hard drive. The cookie contains an ID number that allows us to track the pages you’ve visited. When a cookie is set, your browser will check it for length, an expiration date, and where it originated. We aggregate this data with data on the pages visited by other users to track overall visitor traffic patterns.

We use this information to improve our site by making it more responsive to the needs of our users. We also use cookies to make sure you don’t see the same ad repeatedly during a single visit to our site. Cookies don’t reveal personal information; the only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. Cookies cannot be used to retrieve data from your hard drive, obtain your email address or obtain sensitive information about you. Our advertisers and those who provide products and/or services through our site, may also assign their own cookies, a process we don’t control.

We don’t have access to these cookies or to any information they contain. If you prefer not to accept cookies, most browsers will explain how to disable cookies under the Help portion of the toolbar or notify you when you receive a new cookie. However, if you choose to disallow cookies on your hard drive, our website will not be able to provide personalization services.

BROWSER-LEVEL INFORMATION

Our web server automatically collects limited information about your computer configuration when you visit our site, including the type of browser software you use, the operating system you’re running, the resolution of your computer monitor, the website that referred you, and your IP address (Your IP address is a numerical address that is used by computers connected to the Internet to identify your computer, so that data [such as the web pages you want to view] can be transmitted to you. We also use IP address information for systems administration and trouble-shooting purposes. Your IP address does not tell us who you are.). We use this information to make our site as useful as we can, for as many users as possible.

ControlCSI does not routinely collect any personal information through its compilation of your IP address or the location of your computer on the internet. However, in cases of suspected abuse or service problems, we may use an IP address in conjunction with other personal information to enforce our Terms of Service and to protect or troubleshoot the service, the site, its users or others who may be affected. No personal information associated with IP addresses will be shared with third-parties for marketing purposes without your permission.

We also place “web beacons” on the website. A web beacon is a small, transparent image placed at various sections of our site to monitor user traffic. The web beacon records the number of click-throughs to the page where it resides and collects users’ IP addresses, time the page was viewed, type of browser used, and existence of cookies from a previous visit. However, the data collected by our web beacons are used only in aggregated form, with no associated identifying information, and ControlCSI does not tie IP addresses to individual users or disclose the IP addresses to any non-affiliated third-party. Information collected by web beacons is used only by ControlCSI, its affiliates and authorized vendors. If you do not wish such information to be collected, you can choose to deactivate cookies on your browser.

In these analyses, we will disclose information to third-parties only in aggregate form, except as specified below. We also may use personal information to improve your experience while you are visiting our website. This might include pre-filling your personal information into web forms, so that you do not have to retype it, or presenting you with editorial and advertising content that may be of interest to you.

LINKS AND FEATURES OFFERED IN CONJUNCTION WITH OTHER PROVIDERS

To make our website more valuable to our visitors, we feature some products and services that come from other providers. Our finance, insurance, warranty, and inspection services, for example, are made available through cooperative arrangements with companies that specialize in providing such services. We share with these third-parties such information as is necessary for them to provide the products or services. When you visit our site to purchase an online ad (on this site), you may be redirected to a web page hosted by a third-party provider to complete your transaction. Any information you submit on forms that appear on web pages hosted by a third-party will be collected pursuant to that companys privacy policy, which can be found on their Privacy Policy page. (You can tell which site hosts the page you’re viewing by looking at the location bar at the top of your web browser. If it says “the site owners name,” you’re on a page hosted by ControlCSI. Our site includes links to other websites, and provides access to products and services offered by third-parties, whose privacy policies we don’t control. When you access another website or purchase products or services or conduct other transactions through our website, use of any information you provide is governed by the privacy policy of the operator of the site you’re visiting or the provider of such products or services. The provider’s privacy policy may differ from ours. OTHER DISCLOSURES

We may occasionally release information about our visitors when release is appropriate to comply with law, to enforce our Visitor Agreement, or to protect the rights, property or safety of visitors to our site, our customers, the public or ControlCSI. As our business grows, we may buy or sell various assets. To ensure that the email marketing preferences of our visitors are honored, we may share email addresses collected on our website with advertisers (or their designated agents) for the limited purpose of identifying and removing from our distribution lists and/or the advertiser’s distribution lists, the email addresses of any persons who have “unsubscribed” or otherwise indicated a preference not to receive commercial electronic mail messages from or transmitted on behalf of, the relevant advertiser.

We may allow others to search some of our databases (our listings database, for example) and to analyze the data they find there or aggregate it with other data, either for their business purposes, or ours.

Though some of the information in our databases may be personally identifying (such as the contact information included in a vehicle listing), we’ll only allow searches of the portions of our database that contain information that is otherwise publicly available on our website. When we use other companies to help us operate our site or improve the services we offer to you, we may provide them with information about our visitors that is necessary for them to perform their services. We require that these companies commit to use the information only to perform the services that we request.

In the unlikely event ControlCSI, one of its business units or its assets, are acquired, such as through merger, acquisition or similar event, resulting in a change in ultimate control over customers’ personal information (other than through an internal corporate reorganization or similar transaction), information on our visitors would be among the transferred assets. Customers will be notified promptly of such change. We will make reasonable efforts to ensure that the acquirer of our customers’ personal information respects the provisions of this privacy policy, although this may not be possible in certain legal settings (such as bankruptcy).

YOUR RIGHT TO OPT OUT OF COMMUNICATIONS FROM US AND OTHERS

You always have the option of removing yourself from further marketing contact from us. If at any time you choose to opt out of any category of email, you can click on the remove link at the bottom of the e-mail. Alternatively, you may email our webmaster with the word “Remove” in the subject line and we will remove you from all further email and postal mail marketing communication within 10 business days. You may also opt-out at any time by clicking here.

In addition, those consumers who submit a Purchase Request or Financing Request to us are given the opportunity at the time they provide their information to decide what types of offerings of products or services they wish to receive or to opt-out. In each case, even if you decide not to receive offers or other product or service information, ControlCSI and its member dealers may use a phone number or email address that you have provided to contact you regarding your Purchase Request for a vehicle.

Additionally, phone numbers may be used to conduct customer surveys regarding individual experiences with NVautoMall-accredited dealers, private party sellers, advertisers and affiliates, and personnel. Phone numbers are made available only to ControlCSI, its affiliates and member dealers, lenders or manufacturers who receive your Purchase Request.

The submission of a Purchase or Financing Request itself is permission for us to submit your Purchase Request Information or finance information (as applicable) to the third-parties necessary to fulfill your request.

SECURITY

ControlCSI understands the importance of security for our consumers. Information we gather on our website is stored within ControlCSI-controlled databases (or databases hosted on our behalf), on servers maintained in protected environments. It is accessible only to authorized personnel, as needed to perform operations governed by this policy. We use industry-standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption technology to protect personal data, such as credit card information and finance or insurance application information, during transmission (Click here to learn more about the SSL protocol), and maintain other commercially reasonable precautions to protect information that we store or retain. However, no physical or electronic security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the security of our servers or databases, nor can we guarantee that information you supply won’t be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the Internet. And, of course, any information you include in a vehicle listing is available to anyone with Internet access.
